Our Story

Chiltern Gymnastics was formed in October 2004 from a merger between Evreham GC, based in Iver, and Falcon GC, based in Beaconsfield. Evreham GC, our original club, had started in January 2000 when Brian and Malcolm got together to take over the gymnastics sessions at the Evreham Sports Centre; the Centre management were about to drop the sessions ‘as there was no demand’. We proved them wrong. In October 2004 we were asked if we could help out Falcon GC who were losing their coaches and also in danger of closing. The merger of the two clubs proved to be successful and resulted in the move to Beaconsfield High School as the Beacon Centre was no longer big enough. We immediately increased the session timings and added another evening. In September 2011 the decision was made to bring all our training together in the one venue and so ended our association with Evreham Sports Centre. This allowed us to concentrate on one centre with only one set of equipment required; thus reducing our costs and increasing our capacity all in one move. In 2009, we left British Gymnastics and became founder members of a new organisation, UK Gymnastics now renamed to IGA, which has given us the opportunity to become a successful competition club within the UK.  In 2013 we also joined an American based organisation; the International Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs, which allows our gymnasts to compete in their competitions and qualify for the World Championship each year in the USA.  Our gymnasts have achieved fantastic success in the US with several coming back as World Champions and many others with medals.  We have also competed in Europe including trips to Germany where, again we had great success.
